What is Invoko?

Invoko is a journal-oriented role-play game set in 1997 in the Harry Potter world as created by JK Rowling and based upon livejournal.com. The name comes from a Latin term which means 'to call forth'.

What is the rpg striving for?

Quality over quantity. Simplicity. Intelligence. Humour. Creativity. Dedication.

When will the rp start?

The rp began, officially, in April 2005. Due to various difficulties, we are still in the beginning stages of our play. However, I have high hopes that play will continue and that by mid-to-late May we will have a steady influx of posting and commenting.

How do I apply?

First, you need to visit the Invoko website and read the Rules, Outlook, Backstory, and Application sections. You will find all the information you need to know there. If you have questions, or would like to reply, please send all enquiries and applications to: invoko@gmail.com.

Write up some backstory* and information about your character. The more detailed the better.
The kind of things I am interested in are their life experiences, friendships, family and so on. If you have any kind of shipping preferences now is a good time to offer your thoughts on this as well:

Last but not least, create a journal entry in the style of who you are applying for in a first person point of view. Please remember that the rest of the school would be able to read and comment on it. The theme is having just left a particularly disastrous lesson (you choose the disaster, characters involved, etc.):

When your application is received by the mods, it will be presented anonymously to the rest of the players. They will vote upon whether they think your application fits the tone of the game as it has been played so far. Additionally, they will explain whether the character applied for is in character according to canon (i.e. the books). This will be a deciding factor in whether your application is accepted or not. Your application's acceptance or rejection is not dependent upon the whim of the mods!
